NYCxDESIGN Festival is a very popular event with numerous exhibits, trade shows, talks, and tours to attract design lovers from all over the world. The celebration was held for over 200 events for the 14th year with the theme “Design Connects Us”. The principle was to concentrate on the strength of design to bring together various communities and their design ideas.
The 2026 edition was a wide-ranging affair, but it’s not necessary to cover all aspects of the event to discover the design and furniture trends. We’ve created a list of noteworthy product presentations that will grab your attention at NYCxDESIGN 2026, in case you need a quick rundown of the best.
Double Tee Table
By concrete, Miami-based architecture studio STRANG has created the Double Tee Table Collection, which is crafted by MANOS in a playful manner. The collection is inspired by the bold structural expressionism adopted by the iconic Florida architect Gene Leedy and is a physical conversation between the two practices. The design is an example of how the double tee beam can be utilized as a designer object within the house instead of a typical element of modern architecture.
Bosque Coffee Table
The Bosque table by Lawson-Fenning is more of an interior architecture table and is unique in that its top is customizable. Inset leather, solid wood, or natural stone options are available. The table is inspired by the Japanese Metabolists, and has a grounded profile with rounded geometries. In addition to the main collection, Lawson-Fenning is also introducing a limited edition of side tables with a hand-painted ceramic top from the New York ceramic artist, Bruno Grizzo.
SOM79 chair
Ikonstudio made its debut at the 2026 NYCxDesign Festival with Charles Pfister’s historic SOM79 chair in collaboration with Rarify. The steel frame of the chair is cantilevered, where the seat is supported by the chair frame without the use of back legs. The frame has been re-engineered for the reissue with a high-gloss chrome plating with a three-coat finish. The SOM79 chair can be bought from Rarify for $1,350.
Svila Collection
During NYCxDesign, Ana Kraš presented her first line of tables from her brand, Svila, at the Emma Scully Gallery, both covered in silk. The collection makes use of semi-translucent, refractive properties of silk together with timber, glass and metal. A characteristic of the Svila collection is the contrast of materials.
Post Collection
Los Angeles-based designer Sam Klemick has teamed up with RAD Furniture for the Post furniture collection. The upholstered fabric elements are designed to be attached directly to a sleek steel frame. The main idea is to create a soft metal chair that ensures utmost comfort. These furniture products come in different colour palettes.
500 Series Outdoor Furniture
New York design studio Wentrcek Zebulon produced the 500 Series line of outdoor furniture designed by SUN SET Studio, which is designed to be weather-resistant. The collection, which launches as part of NYCxDesign 2026, is made from marine-grade fiberglass and an exclusive fiber quick-dry upholstery made from quartz sand. These are more likely to be used outdoors as they are sculptural and have glossy gelcoat shells with quick-dry cushions.
The founder of SUN SET Studio, Kristen Wentrcek, explained to Homecrux that the idea for the 500 Series was to have a piece of furniture that feels as designed and permanent as the best pieces of indoor furniture, but made for outdoor weather, wet towels, long afternoons and real use. She said they took a deep look at the design of the best outdoor furniture, but added layers of deep, generous forms, marine-grade fiberglass, glossy gelcoat finishes and quick-dry upholstered cushions.
Ardora Living Algae Lamp
The most popular exhibit at the 2026 NYCxDESIGN has been the SHINE lighting exhibit, which features Lolo Ostia’s Ardora bioluminescent algae lamp. The lamp is bioluminescent and powered by the ocean, and the base is constructed from seaweed gathered from the beach. These microscopic sea creatures put on an amazing blue show in the glass orb when excited.
This work goes beyond utility; it’s designed in harmony with the greater living ecosystem that we, humans, are all part of; first of all, I told Homecrux, “Ardora proposes a real change in the way humans and the natural world live together — reimagining light through bioluminescent algae — rooted in research I’ve been doing that treats living materials as collaborators, not resources.”
Paper Table Lamp
The designer, Dan McMahon, of the Brooklyn-based design firm of the same name has presented the Brooklyn paper table lamp at the Paraphernalia group show, which dusted the 2026 NYCxDesign Festival. These creative table lamps are a blend of art and functionality. The paper shade is a special mushroom-shaped design, and the dried flowers bring a natural touch to the design. McMahon makes the lamp by spraying its paper pulp onto a pre-made form, and allows this to dry, forming the lampshade.
Pleat Lamp Collection
This year the NYCxDESIGN festival will be grounded in the facts of salvaged urban wood and Kozo Japanese paper, thanks to Stickbulb, the lighting manufacturer that made a splash with a new collection of lamps. The lamps are made with thin oak wood pieces milled from repurposed oak. These wooden frames, with angled design, are placed with delicate bands of light which shine through the organic detail of the hand-folded Kozo paper.
Incastri Collection
The Incastri Collection by Gessi is a luxury bathroom collection created by the collaboration between the world-renowned Japanese architect and Gessi. The pieces in the collection embody a conversation between Gessi’s design culture and Japanese craftsmanship, and are designed with a delicate balance of both light and material. The traditional Japanese craft methods like ‘Chidori,’ which uses joints that do not involve nails, and the ancient method of charring wood, are reinterpreted with Gessi’s contemporary design approach.
